CREATIVE ARTS CAMP

Salt ‘n Light Creative Arts Camp

August 4-9, 2019

For students who have completed 6th grade through 12th grade.

If you’ve ever been to Impact, Zeteo, or a worship night, you’ve gotten a chance to see how passionate we are about expressing our faith through the arts. At Salt ’n Light, we love to collaborate on creative projects that demonstrate the gospel of Jesus Christ and the truths that he preached through music, drama, visual arts, dance, video, and tech production. Now we want to bring you in on that innovative process and help you discover your own creative spark.

Come join the Salt ’n Light staff for five days of hands-on creative arts training and experience. All campers will have the opportunity to learn about the heart behind creative arts, worship, and directing others toward God in imaginative ways. Then, through our Major and Minor tracks, we will work with campers to develop pieces specific to their interest, teaching and working with them through brainstorming, creative development, writing, acting, directing, dancing, leading worship, producing and more. All of this will be set to the backdrop of a camp environment with focused time on relationships, worship, and going deeper in faith.

CREATIVE ARTS MAJOR TRACKS for 2019:

VISUAL ARTS, TECH, MUSIC, DANCE, and DRAMA

IMPORTANT: Because of the current structure of Camp and our desire to give fair attention and opportunities to all students involved, we are going to be capping registration for some of the tracks. Therefore, please register earlier rather than later if you are only interested in one specific track! Registrants will be honored on a first come first served basis.

Presently, our Drama Track is CLOSED. If you would be interested in adding your name to a wait list should circumstances change, please email Christie at cmiller@snlym.com.

Important updates for our 2019 Creative Arts Camp:

  1. Camp is going to be a day longer this year! Our Camp will run from August 4th-August 9th at Camp Hill UMC, with our closing program on Friday Night the 9th.  This is an overnight Camp, so students will stay at the church for the full week–their meals, lodging, and instruction are all included.
  2. We will be introducing MINOR tracks this year! (Huzzah!) Students will be able to choose a specific skill they want to hone for the week, and take a one hour class on that subject for 3-4 morning sessions with the same class and instructor. (i.e Choreography, Music Theory, Video production etc).  This will be an excellent opportunity for students to grow in an area they are passionate about–whether that is within their chosen track of focus or outside of it.Minor options are NOT yet available for sign up, but it is important that you register for camp as soon as possible. The sign up for the minors will only be available and sent to those who have registered. The longer you wait, the less choices will be available for both Major and Minor Tracks.
  3. Our prices have increased for this year. We recognize this is a larger jump in cost, but with adding a day and the camp being inclusive of all instructors, food, and lodging, it is a necessary increase. As always, we never want cost to be a hinderance for students attending camp! If you are in need of financial assistance, please contact Chris Irvin at cirvin@snlym.com.

We look forward to seeing you at Creative Arts Camp 2019!
