Storywall – Digital Download

The Storywall is a Salt ‘n Light Summer 2021 drama. It falls under the summer theme of “Mighty Close,” which explores the ways God is mighty close and the ways we, as Christ followers, can be mighty close with one another. In the drama, a wide variety of characters come to “The Storywall,” and write down their story: struggles, questions, hopes, dreams, wishes, and testimonies. Some of the stories shared at The Storywall are personal and sensitive in nature. One young black man shares his perspective on fears about getting a driver’s license, and what that might mean for him in society. A few characters write down their struggles with anxiety, depression, and self-harm. Another character asks a question about his identity as a gay man who also wants to follow Jesus, and he isn’t sure how to navigate that narrative for himself. In this lesson, you will explore with your students the themes of empathy, listening well, and sharing honestly with others.
