Salt ‘n Light Youth Ministry was founded by Stephen Gallaher in 1997, building off of a ministry he launched in 1991 called “The Bishop’s Flock.”   Gallaher served as a pastor/educator/youth pastor, equipping students to serve the Lord through service and witness.  Students were invited to travel to other congregations, throughout the mid-Atlantic states region to inspire other youth in their relationship with Jesus by leading youth weekend retreats and youth conferences.

Other outreach events were established, including Impact, camps, national and international mission trips, sport tournaments, youth rallies, creative arts, and a youth worker school of Youth Ministry.

Currently, Salt ‘n Light provides year-round programming through events, missions, retreats, and more. Utilizing powerful worship, self-developed drama and a dance ministry, Salt ‘n Light’s programming has been enriched and expanded to provide continuous ministry opportunities through all its events.

As the ministry continues to grow, it is Salt ‘n Light’s hope to share the gospel with as many people as possible. This includes plans to increase attendance at events, develop online content and resources for youth ministers and connect with people and churches outside the current Salt ‘n Light network. With exciting new opportunities on the horizon, the leadership team at Salt ‘n Light is committed to being ministry-focused and relational in everything the organization does now and in the future.
