27 Mar Ode to Styx

This past week, half of the Salt ‘n Light team went to Green Hills to prep for the upcoming Impact festival. From cleaning, to hanging black plastic for the stage while singing “I’m sailing away”, to prepping the showers for tent city, the team spent 2 days getting the grounds ready for campers. However, while

the team was primarily there for the purpose of Impact prep, we had the privilege of taking part in a soccer camp that happened to be there at the same time. The team got to connect and hang out with many of the campers, and joined them in worship. Also, we may or may not have effectively depleted the camp’s supply of S’More materials (it should also be noted that the campers at the soccer camp loved the idea of chocolate chip-cookie s’mores). All in all, it was a productive and enjoyable week. Things we have learned through it are:

It is a bad idea to try to hang a massive sheet of plastic on a very windy day, while standing on steep ladders without being able to hold on to something. The wind picks up the plastic like a sail, and scares the living daylights out of you, and you see yourself falling off the rickety 40-foot ladder. – Alex Troup

Contrary to popular belief, plugging in refrigerators can be an exceedingly difficult task, and takes exceptional skill to complete.
